Hearing the Northern Lights

With dry, frizzy hair and eyeglasses on, stand next to a pine tree when the Northern Lights are in the sky, you might hear them as well as see them.

Dry hair and pine needles vibrate to the same low frequency of the high energy particles from the solar winds. It is this stream of energy that is the aurora borealis.

Leaning next to the pine tree your ears will pick up the sounds from these three resonating vibrations.

As an added effect, wearing wire eyeglasses help boost the sound as they transfer the vibrations directly to your bones in your head.
